Don't Laugh At Me Coz I'm A Fool

Happiness
is where you find it
sometimes
it can be hard
to find it

Happiness
is often where
you least
expect to find it

But dont let the smile fool you
behind these eyes
their lies
a story that is seldom told

For who knows
how true
the tears of a clown
can be

Melancholy & true - sometimes happiness IS hard to find.

Only last week I wrote a poem that mentioned Norman Wisdom and then he goes and dies. (The makings of a Stephen King novel?)

hi pixie man - just wanted to say hello. Liked the last couple of entries, especially the Romeo piece :)

How true, DFTPixies. My grandfather always said 'Happy Christmas' because he thought merriment might be too false.

I grew up with Norman Wisdom never really liked his comedy, but it's sad to realise that he is no more. rema

Norman Wisdom had a hard life as a kid, his father used to beat him really badly - and yet, from this he went on to give millions of people a lot of joy.

I hope Peter Goulding (suspected international Poetry Super-Villain) doesn't write a poem about me!

i can't honestly claim to be a particular fan of Norman Wisdom - i'm not really into physical humour. Still i was saddened to hear of his death as he was clearly a master of his art.

Having said that there was a Royal Variety Show back when everyone was in black and white where there was an actors strike - the show only went ahead with two performers: Bruce Forsythe and Norman Wisdom. It was a master class of comic timing

Wonderful meditation on a clown. I have a soft spot in my heart for clowns, and this tells why.
