A Quick Invite

As from tomorrow - being the first official day one should have to think "Oh no, Christmas is coming soon" i will be launching a series of weekly thoughts on my experiences of Christmas on Mondays, as well as my serialized story on Wednesdays or Thursdays

But i would like everyone who reads this entry to join in the fun: every year Queen Elizabeth makes a Christmas Speech at 3pm on Christmas Day - on one occasion she mentioned her horrible anus (or was that Anus Horribilus?? I forget) - but she doesn't actually put on her fluffy slippers and shuffle down to the camera on Christmas Day, oh no - she pre-records it (in fact, someone else writes it too!)

But another channel has started showing alternate Christmas Day messages - the first one was by Brian May of Queen (see what they did there?) and so on...

So the challenge is, if you are prepared to take it, to pre-write a Christmas Speech for your blog and post it either on Christmas Eve or Day and then tell me (preferably prior to publishing) whether you'll be playing along and where i can find it (if i don't already have a link)..

You must have read my thoughts.
I was indeed preparing a Christmas post. I'll let you know when is done.

PS - In 2008 I had a pretty stinking anus too!

Hmmm... I will refrain from mentioning my anus (much to the readers' relief, I'm sure).

I'll promise nothing (I'm not great on speeches), but will bear it in mind. Weather permitting, I'll be in the mountains surveying whio (blue ducks) in the week before Christmas; I get a helicopter ride out (yay!) on Christmas eve, so I doubt I'll be writing speeches then. Nice idea though, and I'll look forward to reading yours. Cheers, Pixie!

Are you telling the truth about the Queen discussing her anus? Seriously? Amazing!
I will see what comes from my brain for Christmas, but as with pete, no promises.

Lydia - anus horribilus (spelt badly) is latin for "bad year" (or similar) - it was the year Diana died and was how the Queen described her experience.

OK - well the invite is there for all if you want to play along xx

I'd make that promise, but am more likely to ruin Christmas for people rather than just do something different for it. However, I always like a creative venture, big or small. So, I will think about to what to write for this.

I am sure I will almost certainly post something on Christmas. More than likely. It's writing it in advance that's gonna be the hard part . . .
