I just want to escape the reality for a while, maybe just take a long walk by the sea, or sit comfortably in my bed, listening to music and just do some knitting...

This is a great post. :) I like your random train of thoughts. Sometimes we just need to write it all down, cause we have so much to think about.Hannahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13933983071689528432noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2094379750831310333.post-87292339709038042202008-09-09T01:58:00.000-07:002008-09-09T01:58:00.000-07:00Good weekend, it was indeed, and I see that your m...Good weekend, it was indeed, and I see that your marvelous blog was thoughtfully reviewed over at Do You Digg It! Not that I enjoyed the document, been there and done with that! The swim sounds good though, and I'm glad you look forward to a hug from your partner. And kitties? Well, as I frequently tell mine: "kitties are the BEST!"Lydiahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11135393270656573516noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2094379750831310333.post-16666443184558195152008-09-05T00:48:00.000-07:002008-09-05T00:48:00.000-07:00honour - kind words were well deserved. It's funny how these things can connect sometimes, isn't it?

michael - i think the balance comes from the fact that although i find my job pretty dull i am all too aware that very few people find the perfect job...so in a way i'm kinda resigned to it. I hope that your new job brings more fulfilling times. They're all just thoughts. Except perhaps you hold on to the job ones a bit tighter.

In 2006, a monk told me that perhaps I could let go of the dissatisfaction I held with my job instead of struggling with how to change the job. It took me a year to digest that idea. Then I tried it and damn if last year wasn't my most enjoyable of the lot. I still needed to leave, and did, but I left with some regret.

To the writing: I agree with Honour, you've created a great atmosphere/setting with this piece. I have a nice sense of where you live and what your environment is like. How does one explain that?

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who has such random thoughts ... I have also wanted to : re-take swimming lessons, play my guitar (my brother has it), finish X-files season one, make an apple crisp, make that other recipe you shared, ... and of course - nap! all within sixty seconds of one another.

thanks for the kind words about my poem :) love and peace !!Roxannehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13370629307564806889noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2094379750831310333.post-88444260334347737452008-09-04T00:45:00.000-07:002008-09-04T00:45:00.000-07:00oh - and my home PC is ancient and needs replacing...oh - and my home PC is ancient and needs replacing badlyDon't Feed The Pixieshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05380146661526476947noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2094379750831310333.post-61987841253583763512008-09-04T00:44:00.000-07:002008-09-04T00:44:00.000-07:00Actually one of the things that really got me piss...Actually one of the things that really got me pissed about my old boss was the way he spoke to his wife/girlfriend on the phone (i never found out which, or if it was both) - like she was a piece of dirt.

The annoying bloke was there again last night - but in a different lane, so i didn't have to hit him or anything. The worst thing about swimming in the winter is when you get out the baths and have to walk down the cold corridor. Skydiving must be pretty great though?

I used to be pretty regimented with writing each night, but my office at home is full of junk, so its fallen by the wayside. Never fear, the novel will be finished one day...Don't Feed The Pixieshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05380146661526476947noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2094379750831310333.post-3095194114486611092008-09-03T16:29:00.000-07:002008-09-03T16:29:00.000-07:00Your old boss was probably just upset he couldn't ...Your old boss was probably just upset he couldn't get a woman hobbit from the Shire. Sexual frustration, you see?

What a coincidence!! As I was coming back from skydiving last Monday with my mother (she couldn't go, due to weight problems), I was saying to myself 'I should join a gym and swim. I like swimming.' But the winter is coming up, and mid-December I won't even consider dipping a toe in water.

And hey! *slaps you on the back* That is not the way of the writer! The art must not be conducive to your mood. Lol, but seriously, try setting aside a certain time period in the morning or a night to write a little, or to put some notes, or to smoke opium and think, what-have-you.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
